I have been curious and playful with the body since belly dancing at age four. I
continued dancing and performing and received my BA in Dance from UCLA in 1992.
After injuring myself in dance and being frustrated with "traditional medical
treatments," I explored massage therapy and found my calling as a Healer. I love
Breema as the whole body is involved--akin to dancing for me.
Rosen work brought
in my emotional healing and continued my transformation to a more enlivened body.
I am thrilled to combine Rosen and Breema. Currently, I continue broadening my
skills by studying Essential Motion (EM) with Karen Roeper,
and I am teaching my
own EM group. EM is a somatic method that uses movement, improvisation, and
one-on-one processing. I hold certification in Breema, Rosen Method, Massage
Therapy and as an instructor for Breema and Self-Breema.
Diahna Fortuna
Since 1993 I have practiced and studied bodywork and have become proficient in
both Breema and Rosen Method Bodywork. I enjoy assisting my clients in becoming
more enlivened, relaxed, and joyful in their bodies. To improve my services
I've developed my own method of bodywork combining all that I've studied and
practiced; Breema, Rosen, somatic studies, Essential Motion, Myofascial Release,
Communication training, & co-counseling.
What to expect during a session:
I personally tailor each session to your needs that day. I have an extensive
repertoire of techniques I draw upon creating a unique experience each session.
In combining all that I've learned into every session, I assist your body to
release tension and deepen your connection to your authentic self. I am particularly
adept at releasing your neck and jaw; which often releases tension throughout
the body. Sometimes emotional issues can come up during a bodywork session as
past trauma you've stored in your body is touched upon. I welcome emotional
release and I hold a safe container and verbal interaction which assists you
to process any issues that arise for you.
My method is especially effective if you:
• want to relax and live in a more enlivened body;
• want to release chronic neck, shoulder, and/or lower back tension;
• are healing from physical injury;
• are recovering from emotional trauma;
• are in a life transition.
I aim to work at the core of your person so you feel the benefits immediately.
I also teach therapeutic exercises and Self Breema sequences so you can continue
improving your body in between sessions and throughout your life.
